Transportation & Lodging is not included in ticket price and is the responsibility of the attendee. 

We have two hotels that are conveniently located in downtown Eau Claire

Meals will be provided for the entire event, however you may want to get out and try some of our local places for yourself. To the left is a map that highlights some of our downtown eateries - but this is by no means an exhaustive list. 

Coaches and organizers will be available at the event in case you need any recommendations!

How the Weekend Works


Get your pitch ready...
Show up, register, we will play a fun ice breaker game and  you get a yummy dinner. Then you get 60 seconds or less to pitch your idea for a startup. Everyone votes, teams form & magic happens!

...Work with your team...
You and your team will work together to make a Minimal Viable Product (MVP). Don't worry about the acronym - you will have access to mentors and coaches all weekend long.

.... and present your MVP!

What started out as a nifty 60-second pitch is going to be your 5 minute presentation to a panel of judges. Show them why your Startup is the best. The 5 minute presentation is followed by 5 additional minutes of Q&A.

Friday, October 18  

6:30 pm | Registration
Arrive at the venue, grab your Weekend Swag Bag and meet everyone! 

7:00 pm | Dinner & Friends
Eat good food, share ideas, practice pitches, get to know the other participants 

7:30 pm | Welcome & Speaker

8:00 pm | Pitch Your Idea in 60 seconds!
You have the opportunity to share your idea in a 60-second or less pitch! Tell us what and who you need to make it a reality.

9:00 pm | Cast Your Vote
All the awesome ideas are narrowed down to a few that will be developed in 48 hours

9:15 pm |  Build Teams
Teams form around the top voted ideas

10:00 pm | The Fun Begins!
Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work at the venue, or go somewhere else to have a change of scenery. 

Saturday, October 19

8:00 am | Rise & Shine
Arrive and enjoy breakfast & coffee

8:30 am | Begin Work
Teams continue to work through the morning.

9:00 am | Mentors Arrive
Coaches, Mentors and Industry Leaders from your community will arrive and be available for your team.

12:00 pm | Lunch
Grab a bite to eat

1:00 pm | Work Time
Coaches and mentors will be available to assist teams with any issues they may be having

6:30 pm | Dinner

7:30 pm | Work Time
Coaches and mentors will be available to assist teams with reaching their Minimal Viable Products 

10:00 pm | Wrap-Up
Finished for the day. You may stay and work at the venue, or go somewhere else to have a change of scenery. 

Sunday, October 20

8:00 am | Rise & Shine
Arrive and enjoy breakfast & coffee while you wake up!

10:00 am | Work Time 

11:00 am | Lunch

12:30 pm | Coach Meetings
Coaches and mentors are available for last minute one-on-one meetings … ASK QUESTIONS

1:00 pm | Tech Check
These final hours are focused on perfecting your presentation and tech-check for the final presentations

4:00 pm | Dinner
You may be tempted to skip dinner to practice on the presentation - don't. It will be delicious - we promise :) 

5:00 pm | Pitches Start
Your team will have 5 minutes to pitch your MVP to a panel of judges - followed by 5 minutes of Q&A

7:00 pm | Judging & Awards
We will all take a short walk to the Lazy Monk Brewing for our wrap up, award ceremony, and * drumroll please * the winner of the weekend!

8:00 pm | Wrap-Up

8:30 pm | After Party
Well, you don't have to go home - but you can stay here! Stick around Lazy Monk Brewing to hang out with organizers, mentors, judges, and your fellow Startup 48 participants!
